CMC Launching Conferences

CMC Ethiopia is expanding from region to region by the grace of God. I have conducted CMC Launching conferences in three area. Zeway (Refit valley), Dembidolo(Western Ethiopia) and Butagera. Especially in Centeral Ethiopia region God gave us big door to work with more than 1,500 local Churches. I have wonderful time with the Chair person of this region evangelical fellowship. He also attends the conference and signed the CMC covenant statement. In the Zeway 38 leaders signed the CMC covenant statement. In Dembidelo-Welega (Western parts of Ethiopia) 64 leaders agreed to work with us and signed the CMC covenant statement.
Now I am heading to the second phase of my plan Harer, Gunchera and Aresi. Please pray for me and for the conferences as I begin the second phase of my plan.

Harer Update

I had a successful trip in Harer. There were 20 leaders from 18 denominations. I shared with them how CMC started, its vision and what CMC is currently doing in Philippines and Uganda as an example.
The main part of my teaching and discussion was our responsibility for our nation. I convinced them that together this 18-denomination group can contribute 150 Ethiopian Birr per church per month - 2,700 birr altogether - enabling us support five local missionaries who can plant at least 5 Churches every year. The leaders finally accepted the CMC vision and asked me to give this type of training for them including Elders of the Church from each denomination.
During our discussion time the leaders mentioned that: “this Harer region received the gospel 83 years ago and yet we have little influence in the region. There is not even one Church in the village or the neighboring village -- all the people living life without Christ. This God’s time and the right time to stand up and evaluate our ministry. In our past we have had several meetings, and we never had such successful meetings, arriving at agreement to work together particularly to plant Churches. We thank you for coming and awake us in this area.”

Sharing the VIsion

I would like to give you some update on some things I am planning and doing. The CMC materials are all translated into Amharic. The Gunchera Pastors are willing to work together but there were some issues among them that need to be resolved. They were praying and discussing how to solve that. Three weeks ago I was in one of their prayer meetings at their invitation. Now I have the “green light” to reschedule to go there and form local Pastors net work.
In the past months I was praying and asking God to lead us in the area that we can be fruitful. I have shared our vision Planting Churches in every village for one of the Harere Region Evangelical Churches fellowship Chairperson. I have learned that there are 19 Villages around the City and there is no one Church in all this villages. I will go there in the middle of September to share Our (CMC Vision). Last week the Chair person informed me that they are ready. Please pray for this area. It is a region more than 95 % of the population is Muslim. You can see it on the map on this website.
One thing I have learned while I was sharing CMC vision is how most leaders (our nation) are captive of dependency. They are unable to see what they have. Most questions were “what CMC can do for us” my challenge for them was “what can you do for your nation?”
This is a time for Ethiopia. Pray for our nation.
