Typhoon Relief: More Landslides

Thanks for all your support and prayers...
Yes, that's what we all need, PRAYERS...
This incident made me cry this morning.. our church member came and gave a report on their barangay, their barangay captain died of landslide, mud covered him, and after two days, with the very foul smell, they dug up his body, and it was standing up.. along with his body was another victim, and the worst, yet another victim, a girl that died in this same mudslide was pregnant.. Ouch, this just made me cry... Then, our church member, as she was telling this story, they are neighbors with the victims, and that night, when they felt a very cold thing on their back, she thought it was a snake??, but when she woke up, the earth was moving, and sure enough, mudslide on her back, she immediately got up, took her children, ran as fast as they could... and praise God, they all went to church this morning... Wow...!!!
Then, our church, in the very low area, in front was flooded, in the back was flooded, and when I woke up, I got a bit worried about all our musical instruments to be under water already??? but guess what, the church where we hold service, which usually gets flooded on just a small rain prior to our church being there, wow, with this worst typhoon, the church did not even get flooded, just a very tiny wetness in the floor that we wiped with a rag, and all the musical equipments are safe... Nothing, yap, not a thing got damaged !!!, God is really good in our church where Marcy and you and Jonathan has preached already... that's why, we got God's protection. God loves us... YES !!!
We intend to buy 10 sacks of rice for La Union, a small amount that we can deal with... @ P1,300 per sack, that would be P13,000 pesos only... we can deal with that...
Art D's team is arriving on Tuesday night, and travel to La Union, and we start the crusade on Wednesday.. We will be doing 4 days in La Union and for the very first time, we will do 4 days in Pangasinan... and with the 4 barangays in Pangasinan, 3 of them are under water at this time, but when the day of the crusade comes, the water would have subsided and the basketball court would have dried up, so, on we go, and proceed to Pangasinan... we plan to bless the province by giving, not only FREE bibles for the follow-up, but surely, we will give them 1 or 2 kilos of rice, instead of merienda's... the more bible studies to be established, and churches planted in Pangasinan, for God's Kingdom and glory... Yes, the Victory is HIS, as always...
If we get 4 additional sacks of rice, then we can give one sack of rice to each of the barangay's that we will be doing the crusade there in Pangasinan. Yes, with this devastating Typhoon Parma, the more we can share God's word., and yes, we will be having a Victory Party in Pangasinan on Oct. 22, although I won't be there, as I will be in our Board Meeting, our crusade staff will be there.. We placed a P10 T. pesos budget, in additional to the Victory Party's budget, so we can invite all the host pastor's and all their workers.. must be a big Victory Party... haha... and even though I will miss it, my prayers are with the Team.
I thank CMC and everyone for all their support and prayers..
God bless...
Cedric

Typhoon Update: La Union
03/10/09 23:13 Filed in: Parma/Pepeng
From Pastor Cedric Panis, La Union, The Philippines
Typhoon Parma's local name here is Typhoon Pepeng. Our province, La Union, was one that got hit by this typhoon. It was in our path...
No major damage, we were prepared. The wind was very, very, strong last night, with lots and lots of rain, and due to the very strong wind, the water was being blown upwards, thus getting inside our bedroom. Good thing, it just wet our flooring, even after we closed all the windows...
Our home, which is concrete, is all soaked. I did not realize that concrete can get soaked and wet... We are now waiting for sunshine, but none, so far... The sunshine never came, so it's just been raining all day long...
Good thing, we still had sunday service, and our church was also wet, and about half of our regular attendees came, I understand... so, we just praised the Lord for our safety, and God's message was so good, to be ready in season and out of season, we are still close to God, and continue to seek HIS goodness.
We thank you for all your prayers.
Messages and videos are coming in from the Philippines daily. Here is what we have heard from them so far...

Typhoon Update: What a Mess
01/10/09 18:07 Filed in: Ketsana/Ondoy
From Pastor Cedric Panis, Manila, The Philippines
What a mess. Yep, that's the right word. A BIG MESS.
We are helping pastor's in the Manila area right now. We have asked assistance, food, clothing, financial, whatever...
One of our CMC pastors in Bulacan, for instance, his church is more than 10 feet underwater, he lost his home, his car he bought around 2 months ago is gone.. his kids lives in the rooftops..
Many people have not eaten in 2 to 3 days already. Pastor Arnolds church is now home to 30 or more families, imagine that !!!
Me and Joy are okay here in La Union. We have an upcoming crusade in two weeks, and I pray to God to give me the strength and wisdom to do priorities in sooooooo many things I have to do.
Let us help the flood victims specially our network members. Please send emails to our Partners specially those who came to participate in our crusades. Maybe you can also make the appeal through the CMC international website. Direct their donation to CMC international. We have done a similar appeal some years back during the Leyte landslide and our Partners have responded. I am still travelling around Samar and Leyte.

Typhoon Update, Project Ondoy Relief Help
01/10/09 17:37 Filed in: Ketsana/Ondoy
From Dr. Joel Maulit, for Project Ondoy Relief Help, Global City Harvest Inc.
I am praying and working out hard in our 'Relief Efforts' to come up with goods, clothes, medicines, canned goods, bottled water, noodle packs and coffe packs to help the huge number of victims of Typhoon Ondoy in Metro Manila.
Some colleagues really was hit hard by flash floods and the devestation that it carries. They are really flat out as in zero stuff only evacuating with their dear lives.
One of which is Pastor Sam Gonzales. A great preacher and teacher of the Word. Senior Pastor of his ministry and a leader in the community. Lost everything - all their stuff, clothes, their car- house totally submerged.
The Great Mega City Metro Manila is 80% (by World Vision) hit by flash floods submerging communities, paralizing Cities,
destroying almost everyhting in its path.
I'm saddend seeing my City literally helpless by this Calamity.
I'm sincerely appealing one more time for Relief Help. We will be onboard next week in our "Relief Efforts" targeting those hit hard by the deluge.
here are my giving instructions for cash donations:

Typhoon News
01/10/09 02:09 Filed in: Ketsana/Ondoy
From Pastor Cedric J. Panis
Typhoon Ketsana, the International name, and Typhoon Ondoy, the local name, are one and the same typhoon...
we will post u asap with pictures and videos as to how our relief efforts are moving - we have to live and fight another day Pilipinas!
the Metro Manila area, where they are so much devastated. I am coordinating everything with Pastor Arnold Acay, our Southern Luzon CMC coordinator.
He has sent P8 T. pesos to Pastor Sam Gonzales in Bulacan, who has lost his home, his church, his car, and basically wiped out... they have experienced more than 10 feet of water, full of water up to ceiling, so I plan to give Pastor Arnold P10 T. pesos to reimburse him and for all his efforts in helping Pastor Sam and other CMC Pastors in the area.
And by the way, inspite of all the misfortunes of Pastor Sam, he will be leading us in the upcoming crusade in November with Jonathan Morris Team. God bless his heart.
Okay, will continue to communicate on this issue.
If you can send some goods, balikbayan boxes, food, rice, clothings, etc.., any spare items, you can send them directly to Pastor Arnold Acay.
Meanwhile, an urgent need here. To send P20 T. pesos to Pastor Arnold Acay, you can send it thru Marcy Babor, who sends me financial assistance. The financial aid will go to pastor Sam Gonzales in Bulacan and Pastor Elisa from Quezon City... both need donations, and Pastor Arnold will also buy some rice and some can goods.
Used clothings are most welcome.
